This was also an opportunity to present the LIFE DUNAS project, in which the Porto Santo City Council is a partner, promoting volunteering in the local community.
Until October 26th, the volunteer field will also involve the Army, schools in Porto Santo and CACI – Center for Activities and Training for Inclusion, in volunteer actions in the project's intervention area.

25/10/2021 - “THE PLANET AND THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS” – ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR SUSTAINABILITY (Facebook Município do Porto Santo)
Within the scope of the EEPS - Environmental Education Program for Sustainability, the first activities of this school year were promoted, on October 15th, 19th, 21st and 22nd. About 50 students from the 3rd and 4th years of EB1/PE e Creche do Porto Santo and at Escola de Nª Sª da Conceição - Externato watched the documentary entitled “Our Planet”.
This activity portrayed the impressive biodiversity of our planet: from seabirds with their fishing rituals, to wildebeests that manage to escape the wild dogs of the Serengeti, to the polar bears who see their frozen world threatened by the merciless impact of climate change.
At the start of the EEPS, students were awakened to the environmental problems of planet Earth and motivated for the next initiatives that will promote their good environmental practices.
