The Porto Santo Volunteer Camp and the Project LIFE DUNAS invite the all residents and tourists of Porto Santo to participate in the control of the exotic invasive specie wild cane (Arundo donax).

The present volunteer camp includes 9 young European and Portuguese volunteers and 2 coordinators of the Plant A Tree - Association (Plantar Uma Árvore - Associação). It is supported by several entities of the Regional Government of Madeira, LIFE DUNAS project (LIFE19 CCA/PT/001178), Waste-Free Ocean Porto Santo and is integrated in the project "Volunteering, Capacity Building and Dissemination for the Enhancement of Terrestrial Life", funded by the Environmental Fund, integrated in the measure of Support to a New Environmental Culture, under the National Strategy for Environmental Education 2020, based on the Protection of Terrestrial Life.

This activity will take place in the intervention area of ​​the LIFE DUNAS project (Ponta da Calheta), on 23 October from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm.
