In the month dedicated to awareness, prevention and early diagnosis of breast cancer, and for another consecutive year, the Municipality of Porto Santo joined the campaign, already known to all of us, which is October Rosa, also supporting, thus, the Madeira Regional Nucleus of the Portuguese League Against Cancer.

In a gesture of adhesion to the aforementioned campaign, the employees of the Municipality dressed in pink and together took pictures, showing an authentic wave of color and a lot of solidarity.

The Public Services Building was also lit pink at night, and will remain so until the end of October.

More than 1000 institutions accepted the challenge to participate in this Onda Rosa, the result of the contacts established and the certainty that awareness and information sharing are the first steps in the fight against breast cancer.

"Octobro Rosa" was born in the United States, in the 1990s, and since then it has been held annually, with the aim of raising awareness about the disease and sharing information about breast cancer. All over the world, during this month, the pink color is spreading in order to sensitize the population to the topic of prevention and early diagnosis of breast cancer.
