The Youth Municipal Assembly in the academic year 2019/2020 reflected on the theme: "Leisure in Porto Santo". They presented a proposal, approved unanimously, in the scope of the Passive Leisure "Requalification of the Children's Park of Porto Santo" (request the concretization to the executive of the Municipal Council). In the scope of Active Leisure in which planning and execution is the responsibility of the young members of YMAPS, the measure approved by a majority was: "Organization of cleaning in strategic points such as:" Vila ", Praia, Veredas and Serra". World Nature Conservation Day, 28 July, was the day chosen by members of the Porto Santo Youth Assembly to start a cleaning action on the beach and collected 73.14 kg of waste with: butts, plastics, glass bottles , microplastics, paper... This action aimed to raise the awareness of the local community about the problems of Nature and the need to protect and conserve our beach, valuing the Environment of Porto Santo.
