INVADER SPECIES AND THE DUNES OF PORTO SANTO - Action to raise awareness of their problem

On June 2, the LIFE DUNAS project promoted an action to raise awareness of the issue of invasive species in natural ecosystems and the role of everyone in preventing and solving it.
The action was part of the “National and Iberian Week on Invasive Species” and was supervised by Eng.ª Rubina Brito, from the Municipality of Porto Santo, at the B+S Professor Doutor Francisco Freitas Branco school.

The lecture addressed the threats of the presence of invasive species in the dunes of Porto Santo and the importance of implementing actions to control them in order to promote the CONSERVATION OF INDIGENOUS SPECIES AND NATURAL ECOSYSTEMS.

As it was raining it was not possible to go to the project area.

LIFE DUNAS is 55% funded by the European Union LIFE program.
