This morning, the Mayor of the City Council formalized the agreement for the provision of facilities for the former Basic School of the 1st cycle of Farrobo, in a session that brought together the Mayor, Idalino Vasconcelos and the Regional Secretary for Social Inclusion and Citizenship , Augusta Aguiar.

The transfer, now formalized, is intended for use by the Occupational Activities Center (CAO) of Porto Santo, an establishment integrated in the Madeira Social Security Institute, assigned to the Regional Secretariat for Social Inclusion and Citizenship, dedicated to the pursuit of social responses aimed at adults with disabilities, has been working in a room in the Porto Santo Multiusos Pavilion for several years.

The Municipality of Porto Santo and its Executive, aware of the current operating conditions, which are manifestly strict, which cause some constraints to the smooth and regular development of its current activities of the CAO, expressed its full willingness to cede the use of part of that property in order to allow that social establishment to have the appropriate facilities to continue its mission.

In this way, the City Council cedes part of the Farrobo School building, an action that had already been approved at the Town Hall meeting.

We recall, therefore, that in that building there are several local institutions, APIPS (Association of Producers of Porto Santo), AEPS (Business Association of Porto Santo) and, now, the Center for Occupational Activities (CAO), which should occupy the facilities after minor remodeling works.
