LIFE DUNAS Project Presentation Meetings to Stakeholders – June 17, 2021
The presentation of the LIFE DUNAS Project to the local community took place on the 17th of June, in the auditorium of the Municipality of Porto Santo. The opening session was made by the Hon. Mayor of Porto Santo, Idalino Vasconcelos, and was attended by Councilor Sofia Santos, as well as the beneficiary coordinating the project (SRAAC). Two members of EB1/PE e Creche do Porto Santo, the coordinator of the Centro de Atividades Ocupacionais (CAO), a representative of Grupo Sousa, a member of the Captaincy of Porto Santo, the Maritime Police and two members of the PSP were present as guests.
The involvement of Porto Santo and the feeling of belonging to the project will contribute to the conservation of biodiversity, as the community feels part of this heritage, helping to conserve it. For this reason, this work to enhance the natural and cultural heritage is an important tool in environmental education activities, by strengthening the participation of local agents as facilitators of these actions, in order to contribute to the success of their implementation.
LIFE DUNAS is 55% funded by the European Union LIFE program.
